Active Attitude is a Northland gymnastics club located in Whangarei http://www.whangareinz.com/, with programmes also taught out at Northland schools and through running a gymnastics club in Dargaville.

Gymnastics sports (tumble, tramp, aerobics and general gymnastics) are the main sports Active Attitude delivers (along with cheerleading, athletics and swimming).

Active Attitude is looking for a Coach who has experience working with children and sport.  Training will be provided to the successful applicant(s).

The ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys teaching movement and sport to children.

If you have a background in working with children; have good time management and organisational skills; enjoy working in a family centred environment and take pride in being dedicated and professional in what you do, then this could be the role for you.

This role is currently set at 4-20 hours per week (this is after-school/evening work and we are open to looking at applicants who can do a minimum of one day per week as well as those that would be available after school for the entire week – or anywhere in between).  This could be turned into a full-time position (40 hours), by the addition of hours in other areas where you may have experience:

  • Coaching other codes (tumble, trampoline, cheerleading, swimming and athletics)
  • Administration
  • School programmes
  • Early childhood movement programmes
  • Holiday programmes

Remuneration: $18-$23 per hour (dependent upon experience/qualifications and responsibilities).

Successful applicants will have:

  • Experience working with children (experience with teaching gymnastics is not a necessity as training will be provided)
  • A willingness to up skill through further training.
  • Self-motivation to always be improving their own performance and the performance of those they are teaching.
  • Values that match our company values.
  • Dedication to maintaining Health and Safety practices and procedures.
  • A passion for teaching young people and making a difference in their lives.
  • Attention to detail – with great class management and planning skills.

This position is available from the 6th January 2020 (start date is negotiable for the right person).
