Current Available Position: Assistant Manager

Active Attitude is seeking someone with experience in youth sport (particularly gymnastics) to join our dedicated team of youth physical activity instructors. We are a progressive organisation, with growing programmes and require further coaches to provide our services to more young people in Northland.

We are looking for an Assistant Manager who:
• Will be based in Whangarei
• Enjoys coaching gymnastics
• Has sports and/or gymnastics qualifications.
• An understanding of TGfU and the New Zealand Coach Approach.
• Holds themselves to a high standard of teaching and is efficient at administration.
• Is highly organised and efficient, with proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Has impeccable time management skills.
• Understands the importance of communication and being able to warmly receive and give feedback to grow as a coach and team member.
• Is an extra-mile person who approaches each class with energy and enthusiasm.
• Is dedicated to making sport a positive and enjoyable experience for participants.
• Has a current First Aid Certificate and a driver’s licence.
• Can follow a system and plan to make sure customers receive a positive experience and to maximise the learning potential of each individual.

Purpose of Role:

To assist the Active Attitude team to increase the number of children involved in our programmes, while maintaining a professional coaching environment which exceeds our participants (and parents) expectations.

  • Programme delivery (approx. 10-20 hours of coaching per week).
  • Lead the administration side of our organisation and improve and create systems to better enhance our efficiency as an organisation.
  • Create WOW moments for our customers.
  • Assist our team members with their professional development.
  • Marketing Active Attitude.
  • Co-ordination of our administration and coaching team in the way of scheduling rosters, timetabling and communications.
  • Assist our team with coordinating events.
  • To be proactive about the health and safety of Active Attitude’s staff and participants and maintain reporting for this.

Hours: The Assistant Manager position is based on 40 hours per week.

Remuneration: A competitive rate based on experience and skills.

Current Available Position: Aerobics Academy Team Leader

Active Attitude is seeking someone with experience in Aerobics and/or Dance to join our dedicated team of youth physical activity instructors. We are a progressive organisation, with growing programmes and require further coaches to provide our services to more young people in Northland.

We are looking for a leader and Aerobics coach who:
• Will be based in Whangarei
• Enjoys coaching recreational and competitive Aerobics programmes or someone who has had experience in teaching dance.
• Has Aerobics or Dance experience and qualifications.
• An understanding of TGfU and the New Zealand Coach Approach.
• Holds themselves to a high standard of teaching.
• Is highly organised and efficient, with proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Prepare Aerobics athletes for competitions.
  • Administer competitive athletes into competitions and events.
  • Mentor and develop other Aerobics coaches.
  • Assist with running Aerobics competitions.
  • Organise Aerobics workshops and training camps.
  • An emphasis on developing the correct technique for Aerobics.
  • Communicate athlete’s progress to parents and keep them up to date with information about up and coming events.
  • Create team bonding and performance opportunities for participants so they feel valued as part of our Active Attitude family.

Hours: The Aerobics Academy Team Leader position is based on 20 hours per week. Hours available are dependable on the candidate’s availability; willingness to take a range of classes; experience; and ability to sustain energy levels for back to back classes.  We would happily turn this into a full-time position (40 hours per week) for the right candidate that has experience in one or more of the following areas: Trampoline Coaching, Tumbling Coaching, Gymnastics Coaching, Parkour, running Schools Programmes, Administration, IT and/or Marketing.

Active Attitude is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic tumble coach to join our dedicated team of youth physical activity instructors. We are a progressive organisation, with growing programmes and require further coaches to provide our services to more young people in Northland.

We are looking for a Leader and Tumble coach who:
• Will be based in Whangarei
• Enjoys coaching recreational and competitive tumbling programmes
• Has previous tumble or gymnastics coaching experience and qualifications.

• Holds themselves to a high standard of teaching.
• Is highly organised and efficient, with proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Has impeccable time management skills
• Understands the importance of communication and being able to warmly receive and give feedback to grow as a coach and team member.

  • Mentor and develop other tumble coaches.
  • Assist with running tumbling competitions.
  • Organise tumble workshops and training camps.
  • An emphasis on developing the correct form for tumbling and not just throwing tricks.
  • Communicate athlete’s progress to parents and keep them up to date with information about up and coming events.
  • Create team bonding and performance opportunities for participants so they feel valued as part of our Active Attitude family.
