Coach in Training

Active Attitude’s “Coach in Training” programme has been designed to provide teenagers with the opportunity to learn how to lead and coach.  It has been designed to provide opportunities for self development to enhance a young person’s ability to role model and deliver physical activity to children.  It is a 2 year programme where young coaches shadow adult coaches and assist them with running classes and sports events for our Active Attitude participants.  Programme participants receive regular mentoring from the coaches they shadow and our Active Attitude director.

The first year of the programme kicks off with an Active Attitude induction day, where they get to learn about the “behind the scenes” of how a club works and learn basic admin skills to assist with successfully looking after and monitoring the progress of children participating in our programmes.  This induction is followed by Active Attitude’s annual “Young Leaders Day” where our coaches in training, captains and any of our coaches under 18, spend a day involved with various activities to enhance their communication and interpersonal skills.  There are various learning modules throughout the year that Active Attitude puts on to assist our young coaches with developing coaching and customer service skills.  Our “Coaches in Training” also get access to Active Attitude’s online learning portal which assists with their learning of how to teach skills, while also monitoring their progress through the different assessments and experiences they have with us here at Active Attitude.

Applications for our 2020 intake of the Active Attitude Coach in Training programme are now open!  We are on the search to find young role models to inspire and lead the amazing children and young people we coach.  Could this be you?  Are you:
